Fossil Free Melbourne University

Did you know that Melbourne University is investing in fossil fuels? By continuing to support this reckless industry, the University is profiting at the expense of its students and their futures.

It’s time for Melbourne University to show its true commitment to sustainability, and join the world movement towards a prosperous low-carbon economy.

Staff for divestment: we need your help!

Like students, we'd love you to sign the petition. This is the first step to showing your support.

We are also always on the lookout for Staff Divestment Champions.

What does becoming a Staff Divestment Champion look like?

  • Host divestment discussions in your department (these can be small staff room meetings, or larger seminars, whatever suits you!)

  • Collect petition signatures within your department

  • Rally your colleagues for actions

  • Put an “I support Fossil Free MU” sign on your door and encourage your colleagues to do the same

  • And more (if you can make the time!)

Interested? Drop us a line and let us know you'd like to become a Staff Divestment Champion. We will organise a time to meet up.

Fossil Free Melbourne University acknowledge that as an organisation we meet and work on the land of the Wurundjeri in the Kulin nations. We pay respect to their Elders past and present, and acknowledge the pivotal role that Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people continue to play within the Australian community.
